Abstract
946,496. Standby lighting systems. CHAMBERLAIN & HOOKHAM Ltd. Oct. 10, 1962 [Oct. 23, 1961], No. 37854/61. Heading H2H. A standby lighting system comprises two lamps L1, L2 connected in a bridge circuit including a resistor R and two sources x, y of current, the source x having a potential difference greater than that of y, for example five times as great. Thus should a lamp fail the other will become illuminated. As described the lamps are used for energizing a photosensitive device.
