A decorative rod, tube or similar elongated article comprises a metal core with a shiny outer surface and a clear, transparent sleeve of p.v.c. or other plastics material in tight contact with the outer surface of the article and containing colouring matter. The core may be of aluminium or polished steel. The sleeve may be applied by dipping or by inserting the core into a preformed tube of larger internal diameter than the core and then reducing the size of the tube by chemical means. Specification 772,059 is referred to.
