Abstract

944,478. Terminal blocks; junction boxes. NETTLE ACCESSORIES Ltd. April 19, 1962 [May 8, 1961], No. 16581/61. Heading H2E. In a terminal block comprising a cover 1 and an insulating base portion 2, the base 2 houses terminals 12 located in wiring recesses by the heads of terminal screws 13, and has a platform 6 with ridges 7 which, together with a ridged portion 4 on the cover 1, provide a clamp for a flexible supply cord. Two securing screws 9 pass through the cover 1 and platform 6 on each side of ridges 7, and are threaded into a steel insert 8 strengthening the cordgrip platform 6. Access to terminals 12 is given by openings 5 in the cover or by openings in the bottom of the wiring recesses (Fig. 4, not shown), and the centre terminal has a threaded hole 14 in its underside to receive a screw for earthing the mounting frame. A hexagon nut 15 moulded into the base 1 may be used to fix the block in position.
