Abstract

944,016. Sliding and folding screens. HUNTER DOUGLAS INTERNATIONAL (QUEBEC) Ltd. April 7, 1960, No. 12418/60. Heading E1J. In a sliding and folding screen comprising hingedly interconnected panels A, B, C, D the panels are assembled from variously shaped plastic blocks each of which is suspended between two hinge rods 60. The screen moves on rollers 81, 82 running inside a hollow rail 70, the rollers being fixed in headers 90 at the top of each panel, the headers having hinge barrels provided with stops to prevent the complete opening of the screen. The blocks comprise end strips 30, 31 between which are variously shaped webs 32, 34, 131, 132 which may provide apertures for ventilation and which may be inclined to the vertical. Hinge barrels 52, 56 extending half the height of the block are provided on the edges of the end strips.
