The armature 12 of a three-phase contactor is pivoted at 18 to an arm 11 pivoted at 13 and its lower end is urged away from the arm by a spring 19. The movement of the armature relative to the arm is limited by the engagement of a peg 21 carried by the armature with the sides of a slot or hole 22 in the arm. The arm is biased away from electromagnet 10 by a spring 23.
