Abstract
The invention comprises 3-nitro-5-acyliminodibenzyls and their preparation by reacting a 5-acyl-iminodibenzyl with a substantially equimolar amount of nitric acid in sulphuric acid. Acyl radicals referred to are those of alkanoic acids and benzoic acid. Examples are given, and the reduction of the products to 3-amino-5-acyliminodibenzyls is described and exemplified. Specification 942,429 is referred to.
