In manufacturing a cathode-ray tube screen by the photo-resist method, and particularly in colour image-reproducing tubes for the layer from which the indexing elements are formed, a layer, non-reflective of light of a colour to which the photo-resist layer is sensitive, is applied first in order to prevent reflection of the sensitizing light into unwanted areas of the photo-resist layer, particularly from the aluminium light-reflecting film on which the indexing elements are formed. The layer 15 may be of a red dye and is subsequently removed by baking. Specifications 713,908 and 802,908 are referred to.
