Abstract

<PICT:0940445/C3/1> Corrosion protective coatings 19, 20, are provided on the wall-parts of a pressure vessel 1, 2 where they make contact with a plastics sealing packing 4 which is retained by flanged and flat rings 5, 6 in a groove 3 in the cover 2. The protective coatings are made of plastics such as polyvinyl chloride, polytetrafluoroethylene or polystyrene, or of lacquers e.g. oil containing alkyl varnishes, nitrocellulose lacquers &c. The protective coatings can be used with plastics packings used generally e.g. for seals on machines, fittings, and in pipes &c.
