Abstract

940,041. Bottle crates. CARLTON PLASTICS Ltd. June 19, 1962 [June 17, 1961], No. 25780/61. Heading B8P. A bottle crate, having at least two separately moulded parts of synthetic plastics material, comprises a base 1, an intermediate member 2, and a rail 3, all connected by metal bolts 11 passing through pillars 5 on the periphery of the crate. The base 1 and member 2 have division members 4 and 8 to define the bottle spaces, the upper edges of the division members being undulating to guide the bottles into the spaces. Intermittent ridges may be formed on the underside of the base 1 of a crate to engage the rail 3 of the crate below it, and openings 24 may be formed on the base 1 so that bottles smaller than those for which the crate is intended will pass through.
