Abstract

939,858. Removing metal by spark discharge. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE DE RAFFINAGE, and CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE. Oct. 10, 1960 [Oct. 22, 1959 ; Aug. 9, 1960], No. 35742/60. Class 83 (4). In an electro-erosion metal removal process, the dielectric fluid comprises an aromatic petroleum hydrocarbon having a carbon/hydrogen ratio by weight equal to or greater than 7. Such hydrocarbon may be mixed with a similar hydrocarbon or any hydrocarbon provided the mixture complies with the above carbon/ hydrogen ratio. The fluid may comprise a monocyclic monoalkylbenzene and/or a polyalkylbenzene of the general formula C n H 2n-6 . Numerous examples are specified. Specification 877,597 is referred to. Reference has been directed, by the Comptroller to Specification 877,597.
