Abstract

A wire, for use as an electric conductor for a cable intended to suppress radio interference, is made of either pure iron or of an alloy of 50% iron, 49% nickel, and 1% molybdenum which is given heat treatment consisting of an annealing treatment of long duration accompanied by progressive reduction of the temperature carried out in a successive series of ovens at the output side of the wire-drawing apparatus. The treatment produces surface zones which effect the magnetic characteristics of the wire.
