Abstract

938,981. Awning type sun blinds. J. H. ROTHWELL, and T. H. MORGAN. Oct. 16, 1959 [July 16, 1958], No. 22872/58. Class 20 (3). A sun blind of the awning type comprises interfitting hood sections 50 of metal, plastics &c. pivoted on a common axis 55 at their lower parts to swing out of each other preferably under gravity when loosed by release of a pullback cord &c. attached to the innermost hood, and the sections are provided at each side with metal or rubber rollers 57 and co-operating track plates 58 interposed between sides of adjacent hood sections for limiting their relative inward and outward swing. Each hood section is, in side elevation of uniform width with curled over flanges 52, Fig. 6, and each roller 57 is secured to the outer section by a bracket 52 and the track plate 58 on the inner section is cranked at 61 to provide end stops for the rollers. An alternative mounting for the roller 57 has its spindle ends bearing in separate end brackets. Specifications 938,982 and 938,983 are referred to.
