Abstract

938,456. Tool chests. B. DRAPER & SON Ltd., and BRIERLEY & KERSHAW Ltd. May 9, 1962, No. 17828/62. Class 18. [Also in Group XIV] A tool chest comprises containers 1 and 6 and a lid 11 screwable, as in Fig. 2, by means of a series of lazy tongs 7, 10 the containers and lid being held by bolts 7a and 12 which locate in slots 8, 9 and 13 respectively the chest being secured in the position shown in Fig. 2 by means of a plate 15 having an aperture 19 and urged by a leaf spring 17, the aperture engaging over a bolt head 18 when the bolt 12 has reached the end of slot 13. The mechanism is releasable by finger pressure on plate 15 against the action of the spring 17. A handle 5 is provided over which an apertured lug 20 in the lid slides said handle being releasable from a spigot 4 and of such a size that it can be placed in the container. When erected the chest may be used as a work bench and when lowered it may be used as a seat. A set of wheels 2 are provided.
