Abstract

In a method of dyeing hair in which it is desired that parts of the hair filaments shall not come into contact with dye, these parts are pre-coated with a water-soluble or waterdispersible protein. The protein may be gelatin and may be applied as an aqueous paste thickened with sodium alginate. An example is given.
