Abstract

936,652. Coin-freed vending apparatus. DEAN BROS. (ENGINEERS) Ltd. Feb. 16, 1960 [Feb. 18, 1959], No.5539/59. Class 27. A commodity container 6 in a coin-freed vending machine is provided at its lower end with a rotary delivery disc 19 having a recess 22 from which the article projects laterally of the disc and a hinged flap 16 which is downwardly biased by a spring 18 and has a portion bearing on the laterally projecting part of the article to ensure satisfactory delivery of the latter. As shown, two delivery discs 19, 20 are provided with peripheral recesses 22 for the reception of the articles, and the flap 16 is formed with cut-outs 16a, 16b through which the marginal edges of the discs project. As an article is delivered, it is temporarily engaged by the flap until it reaches a position below the latter. The apparatus may embody more than one container 6 each with its own hinged flap and the delivery disc or discs associated with one container may have its delivery recesses peripherally offset from those of another container for delivery from the containers in turn. The container 6 is mounted in the casing on two U-brackets 3 engaged by stepped brackets 5 on the container and secured in position by a catch lever 11 biased by a spring 12 to lock against an abutment 7 on the casing.
