935,567. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO. Ltd. April 16, 1962 [May 15, 1961], No. 17572/61. Class 135. A control valve of a compressor unloader means comprises a spring- loaded diaphragm 2 forming a wall of a chamber connected at 5a to a compressed air reservoir. A plunger 6 is connected to the diaphragm and is movable in a stepped bore 7, 8. The end of the plunger co-operates with a valve member 16 which controls flow from the chamber through passages 14, 15 to a connection 18 leading to an unloader means. When the pressure in the reservoir rises to a predetermined value, the diaphragm is moved against its spring loading to raise the plunger until the valve member 16 abuts a seat 9. Further upward movement of the plunger opens the passage 13 to allow flow to the unloader means to stop compressor delivery and this flow acts on the lower face of the plunger to provide a rapid upward movement. As the reservoir pressure decreases, the plunger moves downwards to re-engage the valve member 16 and a further movement lifts the valve member of the seat 9 to allow flow from the unloader means to atmosphere. This reduction in pressure acting on the lower face of the plunger when it engages the member 16 provides a rapid downward movement of the plunger.
