Abstract

934,851. Swash plate pumps. COUNCIL FOR SCIENTIFIC & INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH. Jan. 23, 1961 [Jan. 23, 1960], No. 2556/60. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] In a swash plate pump as in Specification 893,848 the port plate has peripheral gear teeth 50 which mesh with a cylindrical rack 51, reciprocable hydraulically on a piston rod 52, and the port plate is automatically angularly adjusted thereby, to retard the timing when the pressure rises in the pump delivery circuit. The rack is loaded by a helical compression spring 61 and the piston rod is axially adjustable in a guide block 53 by a plunger 54. The bore of the piston rod is fitted with an orificed plug 59 which reduces pressure pulses to the port plate.
