934,646. Matching impedances. FERNSEH G.m.b.H. Jan. 20, 1961 [Jan. 21, 1960], No. 2383/61. Class 40 (8). A circuit for connecting a load to a coaxial line comprises an impedance, e.g. an inductance 9, connected in series with the line and forming with the input capacitance 12 of the load a half section whose cut-off frequency is higher than any signal frequency transmitted through the line. The inductance 9 may be provided by an air-cored coil and the tapping 11 to the load may be made on either side of the coil. The impedance of the half section is matched to the characteristic impedance of the line at the signal frequency. Numerous tappings of this kind may be made to the single length of line. Fig. 1 shows a known arrangement in which the load is matched to the line by means of a bridged-T section.
