934,550. Packaging. NATIONAL BISCUIT CO. June 5, 1961 [June 7, 1960], No. 20166/61. Class 94(1). Biscuits or the like are advanced continuously from, for example, the oven, in an unbroken column about which a web of heat shrinkable film is tubed, the longitudinal seam being sealed and heat applied to the film to draw the tube tightly about the biscuits. The filled tube is severed progressively into package sections by a blade, hot wire &c. and plastics end caps applied. The method is applicable to various biscuit shapes. The residual heat of the biscuits may be used for shrinking.
