Abstract
934,245. Fishing lures. J. M. BADDON. June 19, 1962 [July 4, 1961], No. 24185/61. Class 48. An artificial fishing bait comprises a partly or wholly transparent body 1 having vanes 5 and semicircular apertures 6 through which coloured strips 7 are inserted. The strips 7 may have artificial eyes 8. A metal tube 2 for a fishing line extends axially through the body 1 and has ribs 3 which engage slots in the body 1. Instead of the coloured strips 7, the metal tube 2 may be coloured. The coloured tube may be split longitudinally to facilitate replacement. In another embodiment a spoon bait comprises an oval metal disc enclosed in a transparent sleeve into which coloured tabs can be removably inserted. Alternatively, a transparent panel is secured at its edges to the spoon to form a pocket on the side of the spoon. The strips and tabs may be coated with a phosphorescent or fluorescent material.
