Abstract

Viscose rayon, cellulose esters, nitrocellulose, urea- or melamine-formaldehyde resins, epoxy resins, polyurethane resins, alkyd resins, vinyl chloride polymers and copolymers, polyvinyl acetals, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and mixed polymers thereof with polyesters of unsaturated dicarboxylic acids and dihydric alcohols, polyacrylates and acrylate copolymers and polyacrylonitrile are coloured yellow by incorporating the pigment:- <FORM:0933687/IV(a)/1> In examples, the above pigment is (1) milled with dioctyl phthalate and mixed with polyvinyl chloride, dioctyl phthalate, cadmium stearate and titanium dioxide; (2) milled with a nitrocellulose lacquer and titanium dioxide; (3) kneaded with acetyl cellulose, sodium chloride and diacetone alcohol and added to a spinning mass comprising acetyl cellulose and acetone; (4) milled with an alkyd-melamine stoving enamel and titanium dioxide to yield a lacquer, and (5) milled with sodium 1:11-dinaphthylmethane-2:21-disulphonic acid and water and added to a viscose rayon spinning mass.
