Abstract

933,603. Automatic - reclosing circuitbreakers. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 27, 1959 [June 24, 1958], No. 20145/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (5). In a circuit-breaker having mechanism for automatically reclosing the breaker after an opening operation and drive means for resetting the mechanism in readiness for a subsequent closing operation, the time necessary to re-set the mechanism is longer than the time for which the breaker remains closed on to a fault, so that the breaker, if closed on to a fault, reopens but will not reclose. The arrangement described and shown is that of Specification 933,603, the re-opening of the contacts B on the tripping of the circuit-breaker when reclosed on to a fault, de-energizing the drive motor before it has turned the mechanism sufficiently to recharge the reclosing spring.
