933,216. Toasters. H. MAIER, [trading as JOHANNES SCHLENKER MAIER ELEKTROTECHNISCHE FABRIK]. July 17, 1961 [July 22, 1960], No. 25790/61. Class 28 (1). In a toaster, an electric motor 6 running continuously drives a conveyer 25 intermittently via eccentric 8<SP>1</SP>, bell-crank 14, pawl 16 and slipping clutch 19. The travel distance of crank 14, and therefore the conveyer speed and toasting time, is controlled by cam 21, set by an external knob 25. A thermostat on the heating plates 3 controls the starting of the motor 6 which may be spring-driven instead of electric. Connecting-rod 10 can slide in member 12, compressing spring 11, should a piece of bread or other food jam the conveyer.
