A gauge wheel and coulter unit 26 comprises a gauge wheel 27 having a pneumatic tyre 30 formed with a peripheral groove in its tread portion, and a coulter blade 35 in the form of an annulus, the inner edge of which is receivable in the peripheral groove in the tyre and firmly engaged therewith when the tyre is inflated. The inner edge of the coulter blade is formed with an enlarged beading of substantially circular cross-section and the blade has a sharpened scalloped outer edge 37. A scraper in the form of a plate 44 having a central slot to receive the coulter blade and its lower edges in operative engagement with the tyre, is provided.
