Abstract

A mobile telephone apparatus connects a portable telephone terminal (21) to a vehicle-mounted booster device (23) and performs communication via a vehicle-mounted antenna (25). The apparatus includes means (21a - 1) for detecting that the portable telephone terminal (21) has been connected to the vehicle-mounted booster device (23), means (21a - 2) responsive thereto, for decreasing the transmitting power of the portable telephone terminal (21) to a fixed level and means (41) for performing control so as to vary the transmitting power of the booster device (23). In such apparatus, the transmitting power of the portable telephone terminal can be set to a desirably low level, without sacrificing transmitting power control. <IMAGE>
