929,028. Preparing fibres for spinning. MAK MASCHINENBAU KIEL A.G. Oct. 13, 1959 [Oct. 22, 1958], No. 34646/59. Addition to 904,527. Class 120 (1). [Also in Group XXX] Apparatus for laying fibres, such as a carded web, on a moving apron by means of a conveyer apron guided by rollers mounted on two carriages as described in the parent Specification has the reciprocatory movement of the carriages derived from a rotary cam. The cam 35 may be arranged to oscillate a toothed segment 28 that drives a chain 14 connected to the carriages. The extent of the carriage movement may be altered by adjustment of a link 29. Where the direction of movement of an apron 25 is parallel to that of the carriages, the relative speed of the material laid on the apron 25 with respect to the apron 25 is less in one direction than the other but in a second embodiment the relative speed is maintained constant by means of differential gearing.
