Abstract

928,929. Dish-washing machines. D. LOW, and A. R. HUXLEY. April 11 1962 [April 15, 1961; June 8, 1961; Nov. 8, 1961], Nos. 13652/61, 20661/61 and 39914/61. Class 138 (1). In a domestic or other sink unit there is provided a first series of holes in the walls and @or bottom thereof, an electrically driven blower to force air through said holes for at times causing turbulence and for drying articles that have been washed, and a second series of holes formed in the upper part of the sink for spraying rinsing water over articles contained in the sink. The sink unit 10 has a plurality of holes 26 in its walls in register with similar holes 27 in external tubes 20, 21, the latter being connected through an electric air heater 25 to an electrically-operated blower 24. Holes 33 are also formed in the sink walls adjacent to its upper edge and are in register with similar holes 32 in tubes 30, 31 connected to a water supply for rinsing purposes. The sink unit 10 has a recess 10a in its base in which is located an immersion heater 38 over which is an apertured removable cover-plate. During the washing operation the articles are held in an open mesh basket, a removable cover 35 being placed over the sink opening.
