928,800. Insulating cavity walls. FIBREGLASS Ltd. Aug. 11, 1961 [Sept. 9, 1960], No. 31111/60. Class 20 (4). A cavity wall 1 is insulated by retaining preformed insulating material 2 in the cavity so that it is spaced from at least one of the cavity wall leaves. The preformed slabs of insulating material shown, which may be slabs of resin bonded glass fibre or foamed polystyrene are supported on wall ties 4, and pressed against the inner leaf 6 of the wall by spring spacers 3 made e.g. of metal or plastic, which may also be of a C or a vertically elongated C form.
