Abstract
927,767. Heat treatment receptacles. H. N. IPSEN. Nov. 7, 1961 [May 22, 1961], No. 39845/61. Class 72. [Also in Group XVII] A wire basket 10 (Fig. 1) to support workpieces in a furnace comprises portions 21 of ends 12 which are raised with a downwardly bent area 25 between them so that member 13 of a superposed basket may be located therein, thus preventing sideways slipping. Longitudinal slipping is prevented by a bar 24 at each end of the upper basket overlying portions 21 on the lower basket. The ends 12 are joined by " U "-shaped members 13 welded at their ends to the members 12. Rods 14 lie across the bottom of the basket perpendicular to members 13 and are welded thereto. Short rods 15 are also welded between the sides and the members 13 to strengthen the sides. A saddle bar 18 and support 20 are connected across parts 19 of the sides which are depressed at that point to produce a level top. In a modification (not shown) the double bar 21 is replaced by a single raised portion. The basket may be lined with wire 17 (Fig. 1) to prevent loss of small articles. A grid (not shown) may be supplied to fit over the lower basket in case a single basket is used and it is desired to hold the contents in a predetermined position.
