Abstract

A sanctuary lamp light element comprises a cylindrical transparent or translucent synthetic thermoplastic container 3 adapted to be removably fitted into a sanctuary lamp glass 1, the container being filled with paraffin wax 4 <PICT:0925259/III/1> having M.P. 100-114 DEG F. and preferably being coloured yellow with an aniline wax dye so as to simulate rape oil, and the wick 5, which is stiffened with beeswax, being mounted axially and held in position during the charging with molten paraffin wax by plate 6 and bracket 11. When the wax has solidified the wick is trimmed and container 3 fitted with a cowl 12 which ensures even melting of the wax. The amount of wax contained is preferably such that the lamp will burn steadily for about 8 days.
