Abstract
924,942. Electric space heaters. CASTLE CASTINGS Ltd. Oct. 30, 1959 [Oct. 22, 1958; Oct. 14, 1959], Nos. 33721/58 and 34761/59. Class 39 (3). [Also in Group XXII] A panel heater, formed by a method (see Group XXII) in which a sheathed wire element 18 is cast into a panel 10, e.g. of aluminium or aluminium alloy, comprises a terminal box 34 (Fig. 5) which is either cast into the panel during the casting operation or is mounted in a recess formed in a flange portion 14 of the panel. In one form, Fig. 2, intended for embedding in or resting on a floor, holes 46 are provided for the passage of air from cavities 16. In a further form, Fig. 5, legs 52 are provided to support the panel on a floor. Main and extension fins 54 and 56 together with a top plate 58, which may be covered with a synthetic laminate are said to produce an improved convection heating effect.
