Abstract

924,283. Clutch control. E. UHER. July 28, 1961 [July 29, 1960], No. 27565/61. Class 80 (2). A vehicle clutch 1 of which the elements are normally held engaged by a spring 2 is actuated by a lever 4 connected to a pedal 8 by a servocylinder 9, whose piston 10 is loaded by an overriding spring 12 and can be operated by fluid supplied at a pressure dependent upon speed, the lower end of the pedal having a lug 13 engageable with a notch 16 at the end of a spring-loaded lever 15 operable by a pushbutton 19 to lock the servo-cylinder 9 in the clutch-disengaging position and allow automatic operation in accordance with the pressure of the fluid supplied to the cylinder 9. Pedal operation may be restored by slightly depressing the pedal to release lever 15 and allow retraction of button 19. The latter is arranged to operate a valve or electric contact 22 allowing the supply of fluid to the servo-cylinder only when it is in the locked position, thereby preventing simultaneous servo and pedal operation of the clutch.
