[Also in Group XIV] A package, e.g. in the form of a spoon or spatula (see Group XIV), comprises a body made of thin sheet material enclosing a hollow cavity containing a measured quantity of a fluent substance, such as powdered sugar or milk or a powdered or liquid drug. Part of the body can be torn off to allow the substance to flow out. A plurality of packages may be made by moulding or pressing a sheet of material to form cavities therein and give it a desired shape, filling a measured quantity of a fluent substance into each of the cavities, covering the sheet with a second sheet, sealing the two sheets together around the cavities and cutting the resulting assembly into individual packages. Alternatively, a package may be made by sealing two shaped sheets of material together around their peripheries, leaving an unsealed opening at one end, injecting a fluent substance, through this opening, into the cavity between the sheets and then sealing the opening. The sheet material may be metal foil, moulded plastic material or a laminate having metal or plastic material on its exposed face.
