Abstract

922,658. Electrically-insulating railway rails. J. BURNS Ltd. Sept. 25, 1961 [Nov. 22, 1960], No. 40103/60. Class 104 (2). An insulator for electrically-insulating rails 9, secured to a sleeper 4 by leaf-springs 5 on each side of the rail, and which comprises a base member 1 fitted between the rail base flange 8 and the sleeper 4 and has, on opposite sides, portions 2 which are bent upwardly and inwardly so as to lie between the upper surface of the rail flange 8 and the leaf-springs 5 is composed of a mixture of nylon 6 and nylon 66. The approximate composition of the mixture is by weight 72% of nylon 6 and 28% of nylon 66.
