In a device for giving the decimal equivalent of parts of a pound, a first member 1 carries a column of figures 2 representing shillings and a column of figures 3 representing the first digit of the decimal fraction and a second member 4 carries a column of figures 5 representing pence, and columns of figures 9 to 11 representing the second to fourth digits of the decimal fraction. The column 9 consists in pairs of digits differing by five. Member 1 overlays member 4 so that column 5 appears at windows 6 and column 9 at windows 8, columns 10 and 11 appearing at the side of member 1. A window 8 only displays one of the digits of a pair. This, if the member 4 were adjusted so that the digit 6 in column 5 appeared in the window 6 associated with the digits 10 in column 2, the answer would read 0.5250, whereas if 6 in column 5 were against 11 in column 2 the answer would read 0.5750. The device may be embodied on rectilinear, circular or cylindrical slides.
