A photographic roll film camera for producing different size negatives has interchangeable units each of which comprises a picture frame and a film advancing roller. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, the unit comprises a carrier with a picture window 30a, and a film advancing roller 16 with tight feed tooth 16a rotatably mounted on arm 30, 31 of the camera. The spindle 17, 19 of the roller is held in borings 14, 20 in the film housing and can be removed by depressing roller 16 against the force of spring 26a. The other end of the unit is locked on to the camera housing by means of sliding guide means, spring clips or in this case pins 34 on the carrier releasably locked into recesses 35 in the housing by a rotatable spindle 36. The image numbers 0-36 are shown by a conventional rotatable disc 40 with a window 41, the disc rotating once during the movement of the entire film. If the unit is replaced with one with a smaller picture frame and only four teeth 16a at each end of the spindle, the disc 40 will rotate twice over the entire film length so that an additional counter 43 is used with two readings 36, 0 one of which is visible in the window 48. Initially the counter 43 is set at 36 but after one rotation of disc 40 a pin 47 on the disc engages projection 46 on counter 43 and rotates it to the " 0 " setting position. The spools 16 may be suitably graduated for their respective film frames in known manner instead of having different numbers of teeth.
