Television equipment including a camera and 'a separate control unit within the camera includes an oscillator 17 which controls the linescanning and blanking generators 8, 16 and also produces reference pulses to be transmitted with the pick-up tube output, characterized in that the phase of oscillator 17 is controlled by the D.C. output of a phase comparator 20 in the control unit having the reference pulses received from the camera and the line synchronizing pulses as its inputs. The reference pulses 27 are located in the line blanking intervals.
