Abstract
921,004. Push - button switches. M. FRACHON. July 7, 1961 [July 13, 1960], No. 24601/61. Addition to 848,000. Class 38 (5). The switch of the parent Specification has included in it a retarding mechanism, which after the microswitch is liberated from the action of the actuating cam, retards its return to the position against the adjustable stop. As shown, the shaft 17 of the retarding mechanism 16 is freely rotatable in the clockwise direction but is only slowly rotatable in the anticlockwise direction. The microswitch assembly 12, 24 is connected to the shaft 17 of the retarding mechanism by links 18, 19. Interposed between the microswitch and the fixed cam 14 is a rotatably mounted support 22 which carries a cam follower 8. When rod 2 is depressed, support 22 and microswitch assembly 12, 24 move together against return spring 11. When the rod is released the push-button 13 retracts, operating the microswitch. The button remains retracted whilst the retarding mechanism and spring 11 return the switch assembly to their original position. In Figs. 10, 11. 12 (not shown) the push-rod carries a rack which meshes with a pinion driving a cam actuating the microswitch, and the movement of the microswitch is conveyed to the retarding device by a sector and pinion.
