Abstract

920,899. Work holders. ARONSON MACHINE CO. Inc. Jan. 5, 1962, No. 554/62. Class 83 (3). A work holder comprises a rotatable and pivotable table 40 carried by a vertically movable housing 16 supported by a base 10. Secured to the base are four posts 11, 12, having racks 13, 14 thereon which co-operate with pinions 27, 28 on shafts 24, 25, so that on rotation of the shafts, housing 16 is moved vertically. Shafts 24, 25 are driven from a reversible electric motor 32, through a chain and sprocket 31, a shaft 30, bevels 34, worms and wheels 33, 35, and pinions 36, 37. Table 40 is rotated about a pass 41 by a reversible motor and variable drive unit 44, a chain and sprocket 45, a change-speed transmission 46, a chain and sprocket 47, a shaft 48, and a bevel drive 49. The table is pivoted about a journal 50 by pinions 55 driven by a motor 58 which co-operate with toothed sectors 54 fixed to a housing 42.
