Abstract

920,849. Steam turbine plant. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Dec. 1, 1960 [Dec. 1, 1959], No. 41431/60. Addition to 889,076. Class 110 (3). The present invention relates to an improvement in the plant described and claimed in the parent Specification in which a forced flow once through boiler having a reheater supplies a single turbine having at least a high and a low pressure stage, there being a water-containing vessel which is included in the feed water system connected to the outlet of the high pressure stage such that some or all of the steam passes into and through the boiler feed water in the vessel and gives up some of its heat, this steam and the additional steam generated in the vessel being conveyed to the reheater in which it is reheated before being conveyed to the low pressure stage. According to the present invention, a proportional pressure control is provided which permits the live steam pressure and the pressure in the intermediate pressure section to vary in accordance with the load, whilst maintaining a fixed ratio between these pressures. The turbine has a high pressure stage 1 and a low pressure stage 2 coupled to an electric generator 3. Steam from the low pressure stage is condensed in a condenser 4 and the condensate delivered by a pump 5 through a pre-heating installation 6 to a feedwater container 7. A further pump 8 delivers the working medium through high pressure bled steam feed water heaters 17, 18 to the water containing vessel 9 having a sufficiently large water chamber for it to be used as a heat storage means. Steam from the outlet of the highpressure turbine stage 1 passes through the water in the vessel 9 and gives up its superheat and produces additional steam. The newly produced steam flows with the cooled steam through the reheater 15 to the low pressure turbine stage 2. A reducing valve 16 is provided in a conduit connecting the live steam pipe to the vessel 9. The high pressure inlet valve 19 is controlled by a controller 20 in response to the pressures in the live steam and intermediate steam pipes so that these pressures are maintained in the same ratio. A speed governor 25 controls the low pressure stage 2. The boiler 11 is also controlled by the live steam pressure or intermediate pressure.
