920,677. Flexible hoses. TECHNOCHEMIE, KESSLER & CO. G.m.b.H. June 16, 1961 [June 4, 1960], No. 21881/61. Class 99(2). In a process for improving the mechanical properties of hoses having a braid of monofilimentary structure, of e.g. polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, or polyamides, the braid is wrapped around the hose with stretching and the hose provided with braid is then heated to such a temperature that the braiding material begins to deform plastically, and firm contact between the braiding material and the hose is obtained simultaneously with a smoothed surface. In a modification a thermoplastic braiding material which has previously been stretched is used.
