Abstract

919,870. Combine harvesters. CLAAS, R. Oct. 11, 1960 [Oct. 27, 1959], No. 34851/60. Class 6(3). In a combine harvester, of the type having a cutter table 7 surmounted by a double auger 9 with a centre section having movable fingers 14 thereon, the portion of the table lying under the auger is elastically yieldable to cope with differing crop densities. In the form shown the crop-supporting surface 21 of the table is formed by several sections 22, 23 hinged together and supported by leaf-springs 24. In a further construction (not shown) the clearance gap is manually adjustable.
