Abstract

919,778. Paper. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. June 7, 1960 [June 9, 1959], No. 19929/60. Class 96. [Also in Group XVII] Metal articles are protected from corrosion by wrapping in material treated with capric acid, the protection being effective between 30‹ F. and 110‹ F. The wrapping material may be asbestos, charcoal, alumina or silica gel or paper. The paper may be impregnated with 0.05 to 5 grams per square foot. An amine carboxylate may be included with the capric acid. Sheet material may be laminated or coated so as to present externally a less pervious surface as of wax or metal foil.
