919,463. Electro-plating with gold. SELREX CORPORATION. Nov. 7, 1960, No. 38209/60. Addition to 851,973. Class 41. Gold electro-plating solutions described in the parent Specification and containing a partly neutralized weak organic acid, e.g. citric acid, and the salt of a heavy metal are modified by adding the heavy metal in the form of a chelate or complex, e.g. nickel dimethylethanolamine, cobalt triglycollamate. In examples, solutions contain in g. per litre, 12 g. citric acid, 8 g. KAuCN 4 , 50 g. sodium citrate, and about 400 mg. of the metal salt. The solution is adjusted to pH 3.5, and the metal plates cut as a gold alloy containing under 1 % of the metal. Specification 880,656 also is referred to.
