Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0919124/IV (b)/1> wherein R1 is a C1-4-alkyl group and X is a straight or branched C1-4-hydrocarbon chain and their acid addition salts. The compounds are prepared by reacting a morpholinoalkylamine with ethyl acrylate to give N,N-di(2 - ethoxycarbonylethyl)-N-morpholinoalkylamine, cyclizing this with sodium ethoxide to the 1-morpholinoalkyl-4-piperidone, reacting the ketone with phenyl lithium to give the 4-hydroxy - 1-morpholinoalkyl-4-phenylpiperidine and acylating the free hydroxy group.
