Abstract

919,001. Toy building blocks. FABRIKERNE AS., IRMA. Feb. 2, 1961 [Feb. 5, 1960], No. 3955/61. Class 132 (3). A model building element has the form of a base on the outside of whose base are provided projections adapted to engage the inner faces of side walls of a similar element, which projections consist of thin resilient ribs along all four sides of the base, each rib being shorter than the adjacent side of the base so that the ribs do not meet those on neighbouring sides, and the ribs on the longer sides being divided into sections of which at least one has a length substantially equal to the distance between the inner faces of the longer side walls. The element has undercut rib sections 3 on the base inset from the outer edge. The side walls have undercut ribs 6, 7. The undercut sides of the ribs face in alternate directions. The distance between adjacent undercut surfaces is constant. The element may be hollow or of solid, it has an undercut lower collar so that when superimposed on another element it engages some or all of the ribs. Coloured adhesive strips which may depict windows and doors may be fixed to the sides or ribs or the elements may be painted. The side ribs enable two elements to be assembled side by side. The elements may be made of plastics or other resilient material.
