Abstract

918,523. Fire extinguishing sprinklers. WALTHER & CIE. A.G. Sept. 25, 1961 [June 28, 1961], No. 34196/61. Class 47. A fire extinguishing sprinkler comprises a sprinkler head 10, one or more further outlets to each of which an additional nozzle or a distance tube 13 for mounting of an additional nozzle 14 is attached for the discharge of additional fire extinguishing fluid, a valve 7 held against a seating 6 by a cap 11 pressing against the stem 8 to prevent fluid flow, a temperaturesensitive element 12 for holding the cap in the valve closed position and stop means 15 for limiting the movement of the valve when released. The temperature sensitive element may be in the form of a detonator flask or a soldered connection which melts at a high temperature. A spring may be interposed between the valve plate 7 and the plate 11. Toothed projections on tube 17 may form the stop means.
