918,180. Tubular heat exchangers. CKD PRAHA, NARODNI PODNIK. Nov. 4, 1960 [Nov. 18, 1959], No. 38038/60. Class 64 (3). A device for obtaining a uniform trickling of liquid over aligned heat-exchanger tubes 8 comprises a distribution pipe 2 which is supplied with the liquid under low pressure and distributes the liquid lengthwise in the apparatus, the pipe 2 being provided along its length with several rows of apertures at different heights, and below the pipe 2 is arranged a system of corrugated sheets 5 which serves to distribute the liquid in the transverse direction along the corrugations, the corrugations having in their inclined flanks triangular apertures whose apices are directed downwards towards the longitudinal axes of the tubes 8. The pitch of the triangular openings is identical with the pitch of the tubes 8. The system of corrugated sheets is formed from several ports, whose ends are so constructed that they can be connected without any auxiliary connecting means. To facilitate cleaning an oval aperture 9 is provided in the jacket 3 such that the corrugated sheets 5 may be removed ; also the end covers 4 allow cleaning of the tubes.
