918,103. Ratchet clutches. COMPAGNIE CROUZET. April 14, 1959 [April 18, 1958;. Jan. 30, 1959], No. 12552/59. Class 80 (2). [Also in Groups XXIII and XXXV] A roller-type freewheel, to ensure correct rotation of a self-starting synchronous motor (see Group XXXV) comprises a stationary plate 101 having three ramps 103b, between which and an outer, rotating, ring R are disposed three hollow, resilient rollers 104. Springs 106 urge the rollers up the ramps to maintain them in contact with the ring. A cover (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) has lugs which co-operate with slots 107 in the stationary plate, and projecting tabs which locate in the stator of the motor to prevent rotation. The device is made entirely of a metal having a strength greater than 200 kg./sq. mm.
