[Also in Group XXXVII] The thermal element of a switch for a flat iron comprises the sole-plate 1 and.a strip 2 of metal of different expansion co-efficient, e.g. " Invar " (Registered Trade Mark), joined to the soleplate at each end. The strip 2 has at each end lateral anchors 5 which engage behind projections 7, 8 on the sole-plate and are held down by projections 11, 12 swaged into gripping engagement with the upper face of the anchors.
